In 2007 Julio Mercader who study's in the University of Calgary, discovered dozens of 100,000 year old stone tools from a deep limestone cave near Lake Niassa in Mozambique. The stones look weathered and craved.

Mozambique became independent after ten years of after a war in Mozambique, on 25 April 1974. Portugal granted them independence.
